Konnektive LLC agreed to pay up to $5 million to resolve claims that it deceptively advertised La Pura products as “natural” and “pure” despite containing synthetic ingredients.
The La Pura settlement benefits consumers who purchased La Pura products advertised as “natural” and “pure” between June 12, 2016, and Oct. 10, 2024.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim that La Pura deceptively advertised its products as “natural” and “pure” despite these products containing synthetic ingredients such as parabens, sulfates and other chemicals. Consumers argue that due to Konnektive’s role in the scheme, they were misled by La Pura false advertising and deceived into making purchases they otherwise would not have.
La Pura is a cosmetics company that sells a variety of skin care products which utilizes CRM software from Konnektive.
La Pura hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay at least $2 million or up to $5 million to resolve the false advertising class action lawsuit. The settlement amount will vary depending on the results of a bench trial which will conclude at the end of the legal process.
Under the terms of the La Pura settlement, class members can receive a pro rata cash payment based on the number of products they purchased and the amount they paid for these products. No payment estimates are available at this time.
In 2024, Quick Box LLC reached a $5.5 million settlement over La Pura products to resolve related claims that it trapped consumers in free trial schemes in order to sell the cosmetics.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Jan. 23, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the La Pura false advertising settlement is scheduled for Feb. 6, 2025.
In order to receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by March 8, 2025.
